Hazardous Chemicals in Your Garage

Did You Know That There Could be Hazardous Chemicals in Your Garage?

Many people unknowingly stock their garages with toxic lawn care chemicals. We would like to make it easy for you to replace your old chemicals with safer, healthier alternatives. Just visit our online store at store.whygoodnature.com. There you can order the gardening products you'll need for all the season.

So, make this the year that you get the harmful chemicals out of your garage and replace them with healthier alternatives. Here are a few of our favorite products for Spring (there are a lot more online):

Pro Mix Lawn Patch Repair

One of the best ways to prevent weeds from entering your lawn is to continually seed any areas that are bare. Early Spring is a great time to do this! We recommend our Pro Mix Lawn Patch Repair. It contains excellent seed, recycled newspaper fiber to help hold in water, and a water holding polymer that does wonders to keep the seed from washing away. This polymer makes a big difference compared to standard newspaper mulches. It evens sparkles in the sunlight when it has enough water. If you don't see sparkles, you'll want to start watering!

Captain Jack's Lawnweed Brew

Have you been looking for a natural product to kill weeds in your lawn without killing the grass? Captain Jack's Lawnweed Brew could be just what you're looking for. Captain Jack's Lawnweed Brew is made from naturally occurring Iron (FeHEDTA) and is safe for people and pets. It will weaken and kill many broadleaf weeds, such as dandelions. Because it is naturally occurring, it is ok to seed the same day you apply it. Gently mist the plants you're trying to remove from your lawn. It will probably take multiple treatments to fully eliminate stubborn weeds. We recommend 2-3 treatments in the Spring and again in the Fall if necessary. We do not recommend using this all natural weed killer when the conditions are hot and dry. If you're signed up for our Organic Foundation Lawn Care Program or our Natural Weed Buster Program, you can supplement our applications with this natural product.

Burnout

If you'd like a natural alternative to Roundup to kill weeds and grass in your mulch beds, patio or driveway, Burnout Organic Weed and Grass Killer is a great choice. Burnout is a non-selective weed killer, so you do not want to spray weeds in your lawn with it, as it will also kill the grass. If you're looking to control weeds in lawns without killing the grass or using a harsh chemical you should use Captain Jack's Lawnweed Brew, which, as discussed above, is an all natural selective weed killer for use in lawns.

When cleaning your garage and home of all the hazardous products you have lurking around, don't throw it in the trash. All of it poses a threat to people or the environment or both if not disposed of properly.
